Diagnostics are performed in collaboration with other departments of the Vetsuisse Faculty at the University of Bern, as well as with internal and external laboratories.
We collaborate with the Institute of Veterinary Bacteriology, Parasitology, Animal Pathology, and Animal Neurology, the Clinical Laboratory, and the Department of Clinical Radiology. Samples are sent to the IVI in Mittelhäusern and, as part of research projects, to the Vetsuisse Faculty at the University of Zurich. In special cases, samples are also examined in German and other laboratories.

- Direct and indirect detection of bacteria and parasites
- Necropsies
- X-ray imaging, particularly in cases of musculoskeletal disorders
